Lighting, lookdev, and compositing for feature film:

Jeremy Squires is a lighting and rendering supervisor with a strong emphasis in the creation of visual effects for the feature film, feature animation, and the TV industry. His career spans 25 years and he has created CG imagery for more than 30 big-budget Hollywood films and TV shows. Jeremy describes himself as a “technical artist” where his skills in technical rendering, cinematic lighting, shader writing, and programming fuse together to allow him to achieve the level of quality necessary for visually demanding, high-profile film projects. Jeremy has contributed to many of the big visual effects studios such as Weta Digital Ltd., Disney, Sony Imageworks, Framestore, and Dreamworks. He has a bachelors degree in electrical engineering together with a masters degree in computer science and software engineering. His achievements in film stem from his background as a lighting technical director where strong skills in math, programming, and art led him to take on supervising roles for such films as "Cats"(2019, "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs”, “Happy Feet Two”, “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty”, and “The Nut Job 2”. Early in his career, he was a VFX artist with a Houdini (SideFX) background which allowed him to cross over into effects animation on films such as “Surf's Up” (2007), and “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe” (2005). He is technically skilled in the relevant VFX applications ranging from Maya, Nuke, Houdini, RenderMan, Arnold, Katana, and easily adapts to proprietary in-house software.
